LOST 18.25 POUNDS AND 22 INCHES!! AGE: 38 START WEIGHT: 243.5 PERCENT BODY FAT: 43.6 Hello, my name is Donna Davis. I would love to be considered for one of your 3 choices for the Sunny Summer Slim Down. I am 38 years old, and I am in need of a change in my weight and exercise practice. I am overweight, and I honestly don't really have an exercise practice at all. I used to walk, and did very well with that, but life changes, and we tell ourselves we are too busy or too tired to exercise. There is a history of heart disease, stroke and diabetes in my family (heart disease is on both of my parents sides). I know I need to do something, and I have a 13 year old daughter for whom I would like to be around for a long time to come. So please consider me a good choice for your contest, I need and am ready to make a change and start improving my health through weight loss and a healthier lifestyle. | NAME: DENISE DAUGHTRY ... LOST 11.75 POUNDS AND 25.75 INCHES AGE: 45 START WEIGHT: 183 PERCENT BODY FAT: 41.3 Ok. I admit it...I used to be one of those people who was always looking for an easy way to lose weight so I could immediately satisfy some requirement of attending a high school reunion, or a wedding, or something like that. But I what I learned over the years was that the weight loss it didn't last. Once the immediate gratification was met, old habits returned because I wasn't losing the weight properly. Now I am 45 years old and it's not about immediate gratification anymore. It's about living healthy. I began this healthy living journey three years ago when I decided it was time to quit smoking. So I did. Cold turkey. And have not smoked since then. I don't miss it, I don't need it, I am glad I did it. The downside of that decision was that my eating habits changed. Exchanging one vice for another I supplemented one vice for another. So of course the pounds started to pile back on. I rationalized this weight gain by telling everyone that I quit smoking, but that excuse doesn't hold up three years later. About a year ago, the stress level in my family went up because of a diagnosis of dementia with my mother-in-law, my sister going through breast cancer treatments, and my husband being out of work due to the downturn in the economy. I mean, I didn't have a chance when it came to dealing with this! I was dealing the only way I knew, which was to eat, which caused weight gain, which caused stress. And a new player was at to party...hypertension! So now, I am about 50 pounds heavier than I need to be in order to be healthy, I am on BP meds, my lower back aches all the time because I carry my weight in my abdomen area (which of course stresses me out because I know what that means as far as cardiac problems), I work 9-10 hours a day and by the time the weekend rolls around, I am wiped out. I basically spend my weekend trying to get the energy back to go back to work on Monday...where it starts all over again. Yikes! Now that I read this, I realize I am a mess. I could really use help in getting my health back on track. So that I can be there for my family when they need me, so I can be there for myself. I would be a challenge. I have been on Weight Watchers, LA Weight Loss, Physicians Weight Loss, NutriSystem, Atkins, South Beach, you name it, I have probably tried it. I need guidance, a plan, a kick in the butt. Help me Sunny Wan Kenobi. You are my only hope. |
