Summer Camp FAQ

How are the children split up during camp?
Children are placed into groups by their rising grade level. We have 6 groups: rising K/1st grade, rising 1st, rising 2nd, rising 3rd, rising 4th/5th, and rising 6th & up.

What do the kids do daily?
We have 6 activity sites: 2 racquetball courts, gymnasium, wooded area, arts & crafts, and game room. The children will have set weekly schedules of activity site rotations throughout the summer.

What is the ratio of staff to children?
Each group will have 25 children. There are 2 counselors with every group as well as 2-3 junior counselors with the youngest 3 groups.

What are Jr. Counselors?
Jr. Counselors are our 13-14 year olds who are too old to attend camp. They assist with our youngest 3 groups. It is a great way for children of that age to gain leadership skills and the experience that is needed to later become a WAC Counselor.

Do the kids go swimming?
Yes, each group has a daily scheduled pool time. Groups are thoroughly supervised by both camp counselors and WAC lifeguards. Children that are not strong swimmers will need to stay in the roped-off shallow end (a 3 ft max depth). In order to enter the 5 ft area, each child will need to successfully pass our swim test.

Do they get swim lessons at camp?

What are the camp hours?
Camp runs from 7am-6pm. Drop-off is from 7:00-9:00am and pick-up is from 4:00-6:00pm. Children dropped off after 9:00am must be signed into camp at the modular. If you wish to pick up your child before 4:00pm, go to the modular and we will get your child for you. For the safety of your children, all early pick-ups must be signed out at the modular.

Do you provide lunch?
No, you will need to pack a lunch and 2 snacks daily. No refrigerated or microwaved meals please.

Do you do anything special during the week?
Every Wednesday is "Wacky Wednesday"! The children and staff will come to camp dressed as our weekly theme. We will have camp wide scavenger hunts and challenges.
